- The S.M.A.R.T. Experience

Surgical Medical Assistance Relief Teams (S.M.A.R.T.) was founded in 1991. Over the past 17 years, hundreds of volunteers have provided surgical, medical and dental services to over 25,000 third world children in Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Ecuador. You can make a difference in the lives of these children by donating expertise, equipment or financial support. Volunteers maintain that participating in S.M.A.R.T. trips are one of the most rewarding experiences of their medical career.
