Peter J. Jurka

Reverend Peter Jurka is originally from Buffalo, NY but has lived in Central America as a missionary since 1977. He and his wife Tyanne became national directors of Trans World Missions and later co-founded a Christian Church in Guatemala City. They served in Guatemala till 1985. Peter, Tyanne and their three children suffered a severe automobile accident in Mexico that left Peter physically paralyzed, but with a greater vision and unction to walk straight back into ministry. After many months in a hospital and a miraculous healing, Peter founded Zion Ministries in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

The main focus of this ministry is to provide extensive humanitarian assistance to the poor of Honduras, both the physical and spiritual needs. Zion ministry established a Bible Institute and church. The Bible School is on its 9th year, and the local church has been in existence for 12 years and is in the midst of constructing a church building. Another branch that is part of Zion Ministries is a 14,000 square foot building, which will be used as an orphanage and medical center to distribute food, and provide a dental and medical assistance to people as well as house children with no family and in need of help. Peter Jurka feels privileged that God has allowed him to be used as a vessel for the Kingdom of God.
